About Sundress Notes

Who runs Sundress Notes, what the blog covers, how articles are researched and checked, and how to reach the people who write them.

Start here

Sundress Notes is a blog, and the line under the logo, Slow fashion, easy dresses, is the whole editorial brief. New articles go up when they are ready, and everything we have published stays available in the blog archive.

Sundress Notes started as a private notebook. Somebody kept a record of what was worth the money and what was noise, and after a few years that notebook was more useful than most of what was published online.

The limits of this site

What we do not do is predict outcomes. Nothing about Easy dresses, honest fabrics and slow fashion works that way, and pages that pretend otherwise are selling something.

How an article gets made

The method is dull and it works. Explain what happens, explain what it costs, explain what can go wrong, then stop writing.

We keep the commercial side visible. Some outbound links earn us money, and that never buys a change to the text around them.

If you want the mechanics rather than the summary, the editorial policy has them, including what we refuse to publish.

Who writes here

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and every name links to a page listing everything else they have written.

Odette Marchand, Style editor. Odette spent a decade in small ateliers and writes about cut, drape and the dresses people actually reach for.

Paloma Reyna, Games and culture writer. Paloma covers costume design in games, avatar fashion and the communities that trade rare outfits.

Hana Vukovic, Fabric care writer. Hana tests washing and storage routines on linen and silk and reports what actually keeps them looking new.

What we publish

  • Games. Video games and gaming, read through the lens of style, costume design and the outfits players chase.
  • Fabrics. Linen, silk and cotton explained plainly, so you know what you are buying before you buy it.
  • Styling. Simple ways to wear a good dress for more than one season and more than one occasion.
  • Garment Care. Washing, drying and storing natural fabrics so they last for years, not months.
  • Slow Fashion. Buying less, choosing better and keeping clothes in use for longer.
  • Travel Wardrobe. Packing light with pieces that work from a city morning to a seaside evening.

Nothing gets filed under three headings at once. If a piece does not have an obvious home, that usually means it has not been thought through yet. The busiest sections are games, fabrics and styling.

Corrections

Tell us which line is wrong and why, at [email protected] or through the contact page. Small errors are corrected the same week. Anything that changes the advice gets a dated note at the bottom of the article.
